Terms of use

Last updated 5 November 2026

These terms apply to the EchoLocal app and this website, published by ahmedbuildapps. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.

Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control, as allowed by the store you got it from. You may not resell it, or reverse engineer it except where the law or an open-source license allows. Open-source components stay under their own licenses, listed on our licenses page.

App stores

If you got the app from Apple, you also use it under the rules of the App Store. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its support, and it and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, who may enforce them against you. Google Play’s terms apply in the same way to downloads from Google Play.

EchoLocal Pro

Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Apple or Google handles payment, refunds and restoring your purchase, under their own policies. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.

Your content and responsibilities

Your recordings and transcripts are yours. We don’t receive them and claim no rights to them. You agree to use the app lawfully, including:

  • getting any consent required before you record someone, since the rules vary by place;
  • respecting the rights in audio you import or transcribe;
  • protecting your device and any files you export.

Accuracy

Automatic transcription makes mistakes, and accuracy depends on the language, the speaker, the recording and the model. Check transcripts against the audio before relying on them, especially for legal, medical, financial, academic or journalistic use. EchoLocal isn’t a substitute for professional advice or a certified transcript.

Your data can be lost

Your data is stored only on your device, with no cloud copy. We can’t recover it if your phone is lost or damaged, if you delete the app, or if the keys are unavailable after a restore. Export anything you need to keep.

Regulated work

EchoLocal has no HIPAA or SOC 2 certification. You are responsible for deciding whether it meets the rules that apply to your work.

Disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, the app and website are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, and without a promise that they will be free of errors or always available.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Changes

We may update the app and these terms. We’ll post changes here and update the date above. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], except where the consumer laws of your home country give you rights that can’t be waived.
